Free Crochet Pattern: Sugarwood Happy Sun
It all begins with an idea.
Here are some instructions for making a little happy sun. This pattern would suit lots of shades of yellow, white, orange and red.
I make this little sun for people when they feel sad. Children especially like to put them in their pockets and pull out the happy sun, when they are having a dark day. I hope you enjoy my pattern and your wee suns bring some sweetness to your life. Enjoy - Sally

CHEEKS
Make the cheeks first so that you can sew them on before you close and stuff the sun. This makes it easy to sew on and to hide the ends.
Using the 2.25mm hook and salmon yarn:
Round 1: 6sc in a MR. (6st)
Sew the tail in to create a circle, set aside. (Photo 1) If you prefer, you can leave out the cheeks and blush your sun’s cheeks with some blusher.
Using the 2.25mm hook and vanilla for the base sun:
Round 1: 6sc in MR. (6st)
Round 2: Inc in each stitch. (12st)
Round 3: (Sc. inc) x 6. (18st)
Round 4: (2sc, inc) x 6. (24st)
Round 5: (3sc, inc) x 6. (30st) (photo 2)
Round 6: (4sc, inc) x 6. (36st)
Round 7: (5sc, inc) x 6. (42st)
Round 8: (6sc, inc) x 6. (48st)
Round 9: (7sc, inc) x 6. (54st)
Round 10: In BLO, sc in all 54st. (54st)
Round 11: Repeat round 10. (54st)
Stop here and insert safety eyes through rounds 4&5. Make sure the start/end of the round is at the bottom when you insert the eyes. Before you place the back of the safety eyes add some eyelashes. (Photo 3)
Sew on the cheeks over rounds 6-8.
Round 12: (7sc, dec) x 6. (48st)
Round 13: (6sc, dec) x 6. (42st)
Round 14: (5sc, dec) x 6. (36st)

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
